Walk and Talk Therapy: The Benefits of Taking Therapy Outside

At Peninsula Acupuncture & Natural Medicine, we’ve always believed in treating the whole person — body and mind. Alongside our natural therapies, we also offer Counselling and Psychotherapy, including a unique option called Walk and Talk Therapy.

Instead of sitting indoors, Walk and Talk Therapy takes sessions outside. It might involve a gentle walk to Mornington Pier, sitting at Mornington Park, or strolling along the foreshore. Many clients find this setting more relaxed and free-flowing than a traditional counselling room.

Why Try Walk and Talk Therapy?

  • It can reduce pressure compared with face-to-face settings.

  • Movement supports stress relief and emotional regulation.

  • Nature offers a calming, grounding environment.

  • It feels less formal, helping some people open up more easily.

This approach can be especially helpful for men, teenagers, and neurodivergent clients, or simply anyone who feels more comfortable outdoors.
