Doctor Of Chinese Medicine - Lauren Curtain

Lauren is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and has a strong focus on helping women through issues related to women’s health, hormones, fertility and pregnancy including PMS, irregular periods, amenorrhoea, PCOS, endometriosis, natural fertility, IVF support, pregnancy support and labour preparation.

Lauren’s mission is to educate women about their bodies and to be a guide to support them through their health and fertility journey.

Lauren believes the beauty and strength of Chinese medicine is being able to understand and address the root cause of health concerns rather then just focusing on the symptoms. Focusing on the root cause of the problem not only has an impact on the presenting symptoms but also strengthens the body as a whole.

Lauren has a passion for continuously updating her education in the field of women’s health and fertility to incorporate into clinical practice through attending seminars with the latest research both in Australia and internationally.

Jo is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and registered Acupuncturist who has trained in both TCM and Japanese style Acupuncture.  She has a special interest in and passion for emotional health and wellbeing, and treating children with Shonishin (non-insertion Acupuncture for kids!).  She also really enjoys bodywork and uses a lot of Moxa, Bowen and manual techniques to achieve the best outcomes for pain relief in musculoskeletal conditions.

Ancient TCM theory acknowledged the role that our emotions play in creating physical disharmonies, and Jo believes that this has become increasingly true in modern society.  Through her gentle, intuitive manner and treatment style, Jo encourages her patients to reconnect with their own Qi (energy) and become more present with themselves.  She facilitates clients to take ownership of their health journey through diet and lifestyle advice, and is passionate about empowering them with emotional awareness.

Jo also loves treating children and babies with Shonishin as it is a gentle, yet extremely beneficial treatment for a wide range of kid's conditions.

Jo completed a 5 year Bachelor of Health Science in Chinese Medicine - Herbs and Acupuncture
(Honours) and undertook an internship in busy Shuguang TCM hospital in Shanghai.  She has had a regular QiGong practise for the past seven years and has trained with several different masters in China.  Jo is continually learning and studying, both within Oriental Medicine and in related areas, and integrates all her learnings to provide a wholistic approach to her patient's health.  She is registered with AHPRA, the CMRB and AACMA.
